You may recognize our name, but let’s dive into the incredible journey that brought Fenworks to where it is today. Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Fenworks began as a true startup, with our CEO, Kaleb Dschaak, at the helm, charting the course for our future. Starting as a one-person endeavor, Kaleb’s passion for gaming has been the driving force behind the growth and success of Fenworks.
Kaleb’s love for gaming has been with him since childhood, serving as a means to connect with his older brother and develop essential social skills. This passion stayed with him through his university years at the University of North Dakota, where he founded the first gaming club and varsity program in the university’s history. After graduating, Kaleb knew he wanted to make a difference in the lives of others by combining his love for gaming with his personal experiences growing up. And so, Fenworks was born.
The name Fenworks finds its roots in Norse mythology, inspired by Fenrir, the wolf known for its tenacity and strength. The wolf’s representation of resilience and determination reflects the core values of Fenworks in pursuing its mission to empower students through gaming and beyond.
As Fenworks continued to grow, so did its impact on students and schools across North Dakota. By 2021, we had established partnerships with over 30 schools and had a team of ten dedicated employees working tirelessly to support our vision.
In 2022, Fenworks reached a significant milestone as we hosted our first-ever esports tournament. Earlier that year, we launched catered coaching for esports, providing guidance and mentorship to over 300 students in the program. The qualifiers of each title led to an exhilarating state championship event, which garnered support from eight generous sponsors, all eager to facilitate the tournament and uplift the participating students. As the year came to a close, we set our sights on expanding our product line to incorporate more STEM interests, broadening our impact on students’ diverse passions.
In 2023, we set our sights even higher by launching our first-ever drone racing pilot season. With over 80 schools now part of the program, we are rapidly expanding to new states, elevating our presence, and continuously evolving to provide the best opportunities for students to thrive.
The Fenworks story is a testament to the power of passion, determination, and community. We remain committed to empowering students, providing safe and supportive spaces for them to explore their interests, and making a lasting impact on their lives. As we look to the future, we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and the countless lives we can positively influence on this remarkable journey with Fenworks. Together, we will continue to shape the future of gaming, education, and innovation.
